Why we built it

A good drive dies in the group chat.

Right now, finding someone to drive with means an Instagram DM, a Facebook group nobody checks, a WhatsApp thread with forty people in it, and a Discord you were added to once. You post on Tuesday hoping for Sunday. Meanwhile there are drivers fifteen minutes away, free this afternoon, who will never know you exist.

Sarthe is one place, built for one thing: finding the people near you who want to drive when you do.

The heart of it

A Ping is you, saying you're free.

Post one in about five seconds — now, later today, or this week. Every driver inside your radius sees it. Someone answers, you agree where to meet, and it becomes a drive. No organizing committee.

  • They expire on their own"Now" lasts four hours, "later today" until the end of the day, "this week" until the end of the week. The board is never full of stale posts.
  • Alerts only when you ask for themFlip "I'm free to drive" and Sarthe tells you about new Pings nearby for the next 30 minutes, then switches itself off. You will never be woken at 2am about a stranger's road trip.
  • Your location stays approximateBefore a Ping is saved, your position is rounded to a square about 1.1 km across. Others see "4.2 km away" — never a street, never a house, never where your car is parked.

Routes

The road matters as much as the destination.

Drop pins for the corners worth taking and Sarthe works out the distance and the time. Keep a route to yourself, or publish it so the next person finds the good way instead of the fast way.

  • Attach one to a driveEveryone joining sees exactly where it goes before they commit their Sunday to it.
  • Navigate with what you already useOne tap hands the route to Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze. We are not trying to replace your sat-nav.
  • Rated by people who drove themA route's score comes from drivers who actually went, so the good ones rise.

Everything else

Built for how enthusiasts actually meet.

Your garage

Add every car and bike you own, with make, model, year and a photo. It is the first thing people look at when deciding who to drive with — and the honest reason most of us are here.

Scheduled drives

For the runs that need a date. Set a meeting point and a time, say whether it's cars, bikes or both, and watch who's coming.

Reputation that means something

A thumbs up or down after a drive you actually went on, plus a count of drives completed. Meeting a stranger on a mountain road is a smaller leap when you can see they have done it twenty times.

Comments, not DMs

Coordination happens in the open, under the drive, where everyone going can read it. Fewer side channels, fewer people turning up at the wrong petrol station.

Cars and motorcycles, together

Two crowds that keep passing each other on the same roads. Filter to your own if you want to, or don't.

No ads, no trackers

No advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs, nothing sold to anybody. Your data is held in the EU, and deleting your account really deletes it.

Where we stand

No lap times. No leaderboards. No speed.

Sarthe will never record how fast you went, time you between two points, or rank you against anyone for it. Not in the next version, not ever. These are public roads with other people's families on them, and an app that turns them into a scoreboard has no business existing. We are here for the road, the drive and the company — and for getting home.

Coming to Cyprus.

Sarthe launches first in Cyprus, anchored in Limassol. If you drive or ride here, it was built with you in mind.
