Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Sarthe. By creating an account you accept them.

1. What Sarthe is

Sarthe helps people who like cars and motorcycles find other people to drive with. It shows you who is out nearby, lets you plan drives, and lets you save and share routes.

Sarthe is an introduction service and nothing more. We do not organise drives, we are not present at them, we do not vet the people you meet, and we do not check anyone's licence, insurance or vehicle. What happens once you meet is between you and the people you meet.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18. You must hold a valid licence for anything you drive or ride, and that vehicle must be legally roadworthy and insured. One account per person, and the details on it, particularly your vehicle, must be truthful, because other people decide whether to meet you based on them.

3. Driving is your responsibility

You agree that:

• You obey all traffic law, always, including speed limits.
• Sarthe is not a venue for racing, speed contests, or any competitive or illegal driving, on public roads or anywhere else.
• The pace tags in the app ("Relaxed", "Sporty") describe the character of a drive. They are not permission to break the law, and no route, drive or Ping in this app is an invitation to do so.
• You will not use Sarthe while driving. Post before you set off.
• You are responsible for your own safety when meeting people you do not know.

4. Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us the licence needed to store it and show it to other users. Nothing beyond that, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual, deceptive, or belonging to somebody else. Do not post other people's addresses, photographs or details without their agreement. Do not use Sarthe to advertise, recruit or sell.

We can remove content and suspend accounts that break these terms. We would rather explain why than not, and will where we reasonably can.

5. Routes and meeting points

A public Route you save can be seen and used by other people, and rated by them. Ratings belong to the road as it was when they drove it, which is why the path of a saved Route cannot be edited afterwards. A different road is a different Route.

A meeting point you publish is visible to anyone who can see that Drive. Choose public places.

6. Other people

Reputation in Sarthe, meaning completed drives, thumbs up and followers, is generated by users. It is a signal, not a guarantee, and it can be wrong. Treat it as one input into your own judgement about whether to meet someone.

7. Availability

Sarthe is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of faults, and features may change or be removed. Notifications depend on services we do not control and may be delayed or not arrive at all. Never rely on a notification for anything time-critical.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury, damage or cost arising from a drive you took part in, a person you met through Sarthe, content another user posted, or your inability to use the service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

9. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time in Settings, and it is a real deletion. See the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the law of the country you live in.
